Join the Cape May Point Science Center for a Labor Day Weekend gala featuring a performance of the work of Christopher Tin's "The Lost Birds" by Glassbrook Vocal Ensemble. The gala will also feature the unveiling of the statue "The Beacon of Hope" by Wesley Wofford, which honors Harriet Tubman's harrowing work during the Underground Railroad. Tickets are available here.
The Cape May Point Science Center is honored to unveil Wofford's monument on its first stop on the journey Southbound along the Underground Railroad; the Science Center's history is deeply intertwined with Tubman's utilization of the Cape May Lighthouse as a beacon of hope during the Underground Railroad. William Still, Father of the Underground Railroad, owned this building in the 1890s as the Home for Aged and Infirm Colored People.
Join us on September 3rd as we honor Cape May Point's past and the Science Center's mission of wildlife research and conservation in the region. Get your tickets HERE.
