Darragh Corcoran,

Science International Correspondent

Darragh, from Sligo in Ireland, has received Masters of Science Degrees in Conservation Behavior from the Atlantic Technical University and in Global Environmental Economics from the University of Galway. He is currently a PhD student in Coastal Ecosystem Economics at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at the University of Galway, Ireland. Darragh has worked in Hermanus, South Africa as an Intern during his Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Freshwater and Marine Biology and as a Researcher during his Master’s in Conservation Behavior. Over the course of his time with the South African Shark Conservancy, Darragh carried out survey work in tandem with the NGO, Moving Sushi and acted as marine observer on the Apex Predator Cage Diving Ship in Shark Alley, Gansbaii. Darragh has been visiting Cape May for the last 6 years as a summer worker in numerous local businesses. He is very excited to help the Science Center expand its work across the Atlantic and bring what he learns throughout his studies back to his adopted home of Cape May. Jack Darrell,

Jack Darrell is a science writer for the Cape May Point Science Center. He has spent summers in Cape May Point for as long as he can remember and has previously reported for KDLG, the NPR-member station of Dillingham, Alaska, as well as The Atlantic, Earth Island Journal, Alaska Public Media, and Hakai Magazine among others. He is passionate about sustainable fisheries, local stories that connect communities with the natural world, and Cape May. Previously, Jack graduated from St. Mary's College with a degree in English and Environmental Science and has worked as a farmhand in northern New Mexico and with the SlackWater Center, a regional oral history project.
