These gatherings are designed to get you into Nature and bring out that artsy side of you that loves to create. The Science Center offers a wonderful serene space to take a break and get together with others while making some beautiful art. We will gather inside and out but no need to bring a beach chair. A hat, sunscreen, and bug repellant might be useful!
Thursday August 29 - STORY TIME
There’s so much to love in Nature. And memories associated with what you love. Maybe it’s birds. Or a lake. Or a trail you walk. How about your backyard? Record what you love through illustration and written fonts and script. You have a 5x5” hardback book with 44 blank pages to begin your oneofakind record. You will design each page and mock up the pages before you begin on Page 1 so think about what you want this book to be before you come. Bring photos with you. If you want to mock it up before you come or simply begin its tale when you sit down in class, this will be a keepsake. I will help you with all parts of it and share such books I’ve made with you. And for whoever wants to, we can pass around our books to each other at the end of our session. Come ready to write and illustrate your story!
All supplies will be provided.
This is an adult class for participants 18 and over
Tickets are $25 or four classes for $80 and can be purchased here.
Peaches Lukens has been drawing and exploring the natural world since she could crawl or hold a crayon. She has been passionately journaling since her first Dear Diary at the age of 5. An avid Doodler, she just follows a creative flow that is fun and calming. Her children and grandchildren love looking through her particular art journals, some serious, some silly. Peaches lives on Cape Island with her husband Mike. They are knee-deep in rehabbing an old homestead, where she finds lots of wonderful stuff to draw and remember.
